Kathy Dietz and Kris Hertz talked with the Gaylord Rotary club about the changes coming to Minnesota Driver's License. Most Minnesotans have a standard driver's license, however, they will soon be somewhat obsolete. By October 1, 2020, Minnesotans will need either a REAL or Enhanced Drivers license to board a domestic flight or enter a federal facility. These IDs have additional security measures than the standard ID. Applying for a REAL ID will take additional documentation including:
  • One original or certified document proving identity.
  • One original or certified document proving social security number.
  • Two different documents proving current Minnesota residency.
They also went through passport requirements to travel abroad.
